Wellness and Performance Services

A Peregrine Equine veterinarian will assess your horse’s individual needs and develop a customized program of vaccination, dentistry, parasite prevention, and nutritional health, among other important concerns

Prepurchase Examinations

A thorough examination performed on a horse that is being considered for purchase. Radiographs, ultrasound, blood tests, and additional diagnostics may be recommended after the exam is performed. The purpose of this examination is to determine if the horse is sound and serviceable for the intended use and provide the buyer with insights into what may be needed to manage existing problems at the time of examination.

Gastroscopy

While Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) is more prevalent in high-performance horses, it's important to remember that any horse can be affected. Gastroscopy is the evaluation of the equine stomach through the use of an endoscope. It is considered the gold standard for diagnosing gastric ulcers in the horse as most do not show outward clinical signs and can appear completely healthy. Peregrine Equine is equipped with a portable scope that can be used on-site.

Dentistry

Dentistry is an essential part of maintaining your horse's health. The gold standard for the average healthy adult horse is an annual sedated oral exam followed by any necessary dental work. Peregrine Equine's portable dentistry equipment allows us to provide stall-side care for your horse.

Wellness Examinations

Wellness evaluations 1-2 times a year are an excellent way to assess your horse's overall health. The focus of this service is disease prevention, improving health, and detecting unrecognized health problems. Peregrine Equine will tailor management recommendations to your horse's individual needs. Learn more HERE.
