Dr. Courtney Lewis
Owner

Dr. Courtney grew up in Marin county riding on the hunter/jumper circuit mostly working with green horses and ponies, bringing them up into the show scene. She always had an interest in Veterinary Medicine and became very involved anytime a horse developed an illness or injury. Following a stifle injury to her beloved, Pippen, Dr. Courtney became very interested in Sports Medicine and the many therapies available to help heal her equine partner. After completing her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at UC Davis, Courtney spent 3 years working at UCSF doing lung cancer and cystic fibrosis research before attending UC Davis for Veterinary School. While in school, Courtney completed her acupuncture certification, and upon graduation, accepted an internship position at Circle Oak Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, where she assisted on surgeries, rehab programs, and various lameness cases. Following the internship, Dr. Courtney took an associate position at Circle Equine, which later became Petaluma Equine. In July of 2020, Dr. Courtney opened Peregrine Equine and is excited to continue to offer Sports Medicine and General Wellness services.
